Job HuntThe numbers are in, and FY 2017 proved to be another busy one at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). During this time, the EEOC resolved 99,109 complaints. Overall, through voluntary resolutions and litigation, the EEOC secured just under $400 million for victims. The most commonly filed charge was retaliation, accounting for almost half (48.8%) of all charges filed. Other types of complaints and their approximate frequency follow (the total of the percentages exceeds 100 due to some complaints alleging multiple types of discrimination): race (34%); disability (32%); sex (30%); age (22%); national origin (almost 10%); religion (4%); color (almost 4%); equal pay act (1%); genetic information (0.2%).
